This page gives information about my hobby of collecting car advertising postcards, that were issued by car manufacturers, importers and dealerships to promote their new and sometimes used cars.
In 2008 the "Postcard Wiki" was introduced as a spin-off of the general Wikipedia and I have started to make some modest contributions to this interesting new initiative which you can see here.

Lincoln Premiere Coupe # NL-563 (1956)
This collection started by keeping the cards that I obtained when trading with car brochure collectors or found at car exhibitions and dealer showrooms. This was in the early 1980s. I then learned to know a large dealer of car postcards in the US and he has helped my to increase my collection of this material substantially. We are still trading as of today and I visited him in California back in 1994. The size of my car card collection is around 18,000 different cards, but every year new and old cards are still added to this number as many new cards are issued and old ones discovered and traded.
The card below of the Opel Speedster was issued in the Spring of 2001 and all these are numbered uniquely for a lottery. If you like this card please let me know as I have a good stock of these.Opel Speedster 2001
On the wave of the popularity of the freecard also many car advertising cards are issued in this category and as these cards are intended exactly what they are supposed to do - advertising the cars they show or refer to - these fit nicely in my collection.
I acquired a series of US car cards that are smaller in size (more the cigarette card type) and these are of General Motors and show their new models. These replace the postcards that they have issued in earlier years and which has stopped for some time. Below 2 cards of this series are shown. I would like to receive more of these!
